Nature can live without us.

We can’t live without nature.

Humanity has a lot of really, really bad parts, and a few good ones, but recently it’s not hard to feel like that the bad outweighs the good. We seem to be doing a terrific job of destroying not only the world we inhabit, but also ourselves.

So would it really be that bad to go extinct?

So would it really be that bad to go extinct?

We don’t wish to be bleak - it’s the last thing anyone needs - but any hope needs to be rooted in honesty. We wanted to imagine a world without humans. What would be lost? What could return? What may emerge? And what does this tell us about the world we call our own.

It is hopeful to allow ourselves a different perspective: away from the discourse of saving nature and towards acknowledging our own fragility, dependence and transience. Because ultimately it’s humans that need saving.

Take Action.

Take Action.

Take Action.

This work, while a playful insight into the human experience, is a call to action. We believe that where there is fun, there is hope. And where there is hope, there is future.

But this future requires action. We can change climate change – if we act now, and together:

— See a myriad of ways to take action on climate change today.

Take meaningful steps to reduce your carbon impact and encourage others to do the same.

About this Project.

It’s Fine is a project by Katerina Vaseva and Daniel Haas, produced in collaboration with Fine Acts.

Its concept has been developed during Fine Acts Labs, a unique experimental format at the intersection of art, tech, and social/environmental issues. It matches artists with technologists to work on small-scale, high-impact interdisciplinary collaborative projects.

Daniel Haas is an Austrian artist who focuses on time-based and interactive media arts.

Katerina Vaseva is a Bulgaria-born Berlin-based software engineer with a background in art and architecture.

Fine Acts is a global nonprofit creative studio for social impact, that believes in playtivism.
